PUBG-like battle royale sequel, The Culling 2, now released
With Player Unknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite Battle Royale laughing all the way to the bank with them being the front pages for the Battle Royale genre (with that said, they are making a TON of money), there was never any doubt of other developers joining in on the fun (at least in terms of PUBG-like gameplay).
Xaviant's sequel (or season 2) to their Battle Royale game, The Culling, just released for Xbox One, with them making the sequel more similar to Player Unknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite, but while also keeping some aspect of what made the first game original. If you don't remember the first game, it was basically like a videogame version of The Hunger Games. The focus wasn't on guns, it was primarily on melee combat (which is also in the sequel, alongside a bigger focus now on gunfights). Instead of 100 players fighting against each other like in PUBG or Fortnite, The Culling 2 only has 50 players.
Xaviant Games decided to cancel any future support for the first game a while back, leading many players to thinking that there wasn't any hope for something new from the franchise. However, a surprise announcement not that long ago about the sequel being official, showed people a different story.
The Culling 2 released today (10th of July) on the Microsoft Store for Xbox One, priced at the low price of $19.99. It is only available digitally. Will you be picking it up? Let me know!
